## Why we built Mosaic

Mosaic is a local-first anti-detect browser. We built it because the browsers people trusted with their accounts spoofed values in JavaScript, kept profiles in someone else’s cloud, and charged more for every profile.

- **Its own Chromium.** Values change in C++, inside the engine — not in injected JavaScript.
- **Local first.** Profiles, cookies and proxies stay in a folder on your computer.

## A spoof in JavaScript is a disagreement waiting to be found.

An anti-detect browser has one job: make each account look like it lives on its own machine. Most of the ones we tried did that by injecting JavaScript that overwrites what a page reads. A page can often tell, because two spoofs of one value rarely agree with each other, and a consistency scanner looks for exactly that disagreement.

- **Changed in the engine, not the page.** Mosaic runs its own Chromium, branded Tesseract Chrome, built from stock source with a patch series. Values are changed in C++, where every page, frame and worker reads the same machine.
- **Measured against real Chrome.** Where our build differed from Google’s own — the speech-voice list, a DRM certificate that was the same on every profile — we fixed it in the engine or turned it off, and wrote down why.
- **Nothing spoofed in JavaScript.** On our engine, two spoofs of one value can never fall out of step, because there is only ever one.

## Your profiles live on your computer.

There is no cloud copy for anyone to leak, subpoena or lose. Our server knows your email, your plan, which computers you use and when a profile opens, by a random id. Never what is in a profile.

That choice has a cost we will say plainly: there are no team seats and no sync between computers. If you need those today, a cloud-based tool will suit you better.

Profiles run on your machine, so the thousandth one costs us exactly what the first did: nothing. So Pro is everything, unlimited, and we do not charge per profile. We do not plan to.

## Three rules we hold ourselves to.

### Measure, do not guess

A claim about a detector names the detector and the date it was run. Reasoning has lost to measurement here more than once, and each time it was written down.

### No promises we cannot keep

Detection is an arms race. We tell you what Mosaic changes and how, and what it was measured to do — never that it is undetectable.

### Legitimate use only

Mosaic is for people who run accounts they are entitled to run and need them kept apart: agencies, sellers, ad teams, testers, people who care about privacy.

## A person reads every message.

Questions, ideas and bug reports go to the team.
