Automation REST API

Human typing

Send text to a running profile as keystrokes rather than as a paste.

Read the typing defaults

GET/api/v1/typing/defaults

The speed, mistake rate and pause behaviour used when a request passes no options.

Returns

A TypingOptions.

Type into a running profile

POST/api/v1/profiles/:id/type

Types the text into whatever the profile’s focused page has focused, one character at a time, through the same input pipeline a real key press uses — so the page receives keydown, keypress, input and keyup for every character. A paste, by contrast, is a single event with inputType: "insertFromPaste" and no key presses at all, which is one of the clearest automation tells a hardened login can look for. Gaps between keystrokes are right-skewed rather than uniform, punctuation and shifted characters cost more, and mistakes are typed then corrected with a backspace. The call blocks for as long as the typing takes.
