You can have more than one Etsy shop. Etsy's help page on second shops, which we read on 2 November 2026, opens with "You're welcome to run multiple shops at once on Etsy." The conditions are a separate Etsy account for each shop, a separate email address on each account, and every shop listed on the public profile of every account (How to Open a Second Shop on Etsy).

That last condition is the one most answers to this question leave out, and it changes how you should think about it. Your shops are not supposed to be a secret from Etsy or from buyers. Mosaic keeps accounts you are entitled to run apart; it does not change what a platform allows.

What Etsy requires for a second shop

The rules are on two help pages, and they are short enough to list in full:

  1. One shop per account. Etsy says "each Etsy account can only have one shop and one email address at a time". A second shop means a second account.
  2. A new email address. Registering needs an address "not associated with another Etsy shop". You can free an address by changing the email on an old account, but closing an account does not release its address.
  3. Every shop on every public profile: "If you choose to run multiple shops on Etsy, you must list all the shops you run in the Public Profile section of each account." The bio page repeats it for accounts in general: "If you have more than one Etsy account, you must list all of them in the Public Profile section of each account" (Your Bio and Profile Picture).
  4. The Seller Policy, per account. Each account has to comply with it on its own.
  5. The same taxpayer ID and address. Etsy says you must use them "when applicable". The same card and the same bank account for Etsy Payments are allowed.

To open the shop, Etsy's own steps are: choose Your account, Sign out, Sign in, Register, enter the new email, then follow the steps to open a shop.

Is a second shop the right call?

Etsy's page asks the question itself. If the new products are "very different from your existing brand", a second shop may help. If they are not, shop sections let one shop sort jewellery and prints into their own shelves without a second set of fees, reviews and messages to keep up with. A second shop starts with no reviews and no sales history, because nothing moves between accounts. Etsy says it has no way to move shop information from one account to another or to combine shops on one account.

So the second shop is a separate business on Etsy for life. Plan it that way.

What you cannot do with more than one Etsy shop

Three things come up often enough to answer directly.

Buying a shop is not a way to get one. Etsy does not allow account transfers. A person who buys a business that sold on Etsy "must register a new Etsy account and open a new shop", and "if Etsy believes that an account transfer has occurred, the account may be suspended without notice" (Can I Transfer My Etsy Account to Someone Else?). Shop names cannot be reused either, even after a shop closes.

A suspended shop is not a reason to open another. Etsy's route back is an appeal, filed within 6 months of the suspension once the cause is fixed, and decided in up to two weeks (How to File an Appeal). We will not help anyone around that, and nor will any browser.

Hiding the link between shops breaks the third rule above. Since Etsy asks you to name your other shops, there is nothing to hide from Etsy in the first place. The general picture of when several accounts are allowed, platform by platform, is in is it legal to have multiple accounts.

Running two shops from one computer

Etsy answers this one too, in the same help page: "Most browsers won't allow you to be signed in to multiple Etsy accounts at one time. For this reason, it may help to use different browsers for each account." Signing out and in between shops all day is how a reply meant for one shop's buyer gets sent from the other.

Different browsers work for two shops. Past that, a browser profile per shop scales better, and each profile keeps its own cookies, saved logins and history. A Chrome profile does that for free. What a Chrome profile shares with its neighbours (the screen, the fonts, the internet address) is set out in how websites detect multiple accounts, though for Etsy that is not the point, since your shops are listed on each other's profiles anyway.

We built Mosaic for sellers who run more than a handful of stores and want each one's login, two-factor codes and downloads to stay with it. Each Etsy shop gets its own profile, opened in its own window, and its 2FA key can live in that profile's Logins tab so the code shows up beside the shop it belongs to.

How to set that up day to day, with Etsy's shared access for helpers, is the subject of how to manage multiple Etsy shops. The plans for sellers with several stores are on pricing.
