Telegram expects people to have more than one account. Its FAQ (read 2 November 2026) gives a work phone and a personal phone as the example, says "You may create another Telegram account on the second number as well", and adds that "It is possible to log in to one Telegram app with several different accounts at once." So yes, you can have multiple Telegram accounts, and the app is built to hold them.
Telegram's terms allow several accounts per person, one per phone number. The first thing the Terms of Service (read 2 November 2026) ask you not to do is "Use our service to send spam or scam users." Mosaic keeps accounts you are entitled to run apart; it does not change what a platform allows.
One account per phone number
The account on Telegram is the phone number. The FAQ puts it plainly in the section on new numbers: "Each phone number is a separate account on Telegram." If you move your number to a new account, Telegram asks you to delete whatever account already sits on that number first. Two accounts never share one number.
The number is also how you get back in. Telegram's own words, from the answer about stolen phones: "the phone number is the only way for us to identify a Telegram user at the moment. We don't collect additional information about you, so whoever has the number, has the account." That sentence decides which numbers are worth putting an account on. A prepaid SIM you will let lapse in six months is an account you will lose in six months, and so is a number borrowed from a service you do not control.
Virtual numbers carry a second risk. The Spam FAQ (read 2 November 2026) says some numbers "may trigger an overly harsh response from our system, either due to their previous owners' activities or due to them being certain virtual/VOIP numbers", which can leave a new account limited before it has sent a single message. A recycled number brings its old owner's history with it.

How many Telegram accounts you can have in one app
Telegram's announcement of 26 February 2019, when the feature reached iOS after Android, says you can "easily switch between up to 3 phone numbers without logging out", that you add them under Settings, and that push notifications arrive for every account with the account's name on them.
| Allowed by Telegram | Not allowed | |
|---|---|---|
| A personal account and a work account | Yes, on two numbers | |
| Up to three accounts in one app | Yes | |
| The same account on your phone, laptop and the web at once | Yes | |
| Two accounts on one phone number | One number is one account | |
| Any account used to send spam | Terms of Service | |
| Any account used to scam users | Terms of Service |
Telegram Premium does not change the rules above. Its FAQ says multiple devices and accounts stayed free when Premium launched, and that each account needs its own subscription if you want Premium on more than one.
What gets an extra account limited
Telegram does not police having a second account. It polices what accounts send. When people press Report spam, moderators review the messages, and a confirmed report leaves the account able to message only people who saved its number as a contact. Repeated offences mean longer limits, and the Spam FAQ says someone who keeps writing to strangers "may lose the ability to do so forever."
That rule bites harder on a new account, because a new account has nobody who saved its number yet. A support account that only answers customers who wrote in first is fine. An account opened to cold-message people from a list gets reported, and once Telegram limits it, a second or third account doing the same thing is the same problem again.
Accounts also expire if you forget them. The FAQ says an account that does not come online for at least 18 months is deleted with its messages, media and contacts, and that you can change the period in Settings. An account held for a quiet project needs opening now and then.
Using two Telegram accounts on one computer
The app is the simple answer. Add the second number in Settings, switch from the side menu, and both accounts keep their notifications. For two or three accounts of your own, there is nothing to buy.
Past three, or when the accounts belong to different people, the desktop apps and the web apps at web.telegram.org help. Each web session lives in the browser's own storage, so a second browser profile holds a second account. The options from the app to separate browsers, step by step, are in how to manage multiple Telegram accounts. Browser profiles still share one computer and one home connection; which of those a site can read is in how websites detect multiple accounts.
Where Mosaic fits
We built Mosaic for the person who holds accounts on behalf of others: a support lead with a Telegram account per region, or a community manager running a client's account next to their own. In Mosaic each Telegram account gets its own profile, with its own storage, a fingerprint drawn from real hardware and, if the account should appear from the client's country, its own proxy. Timezone and language follow that proxy's exit (exit matching), so the clock in Telegram Web agrees with the address it sees.

Each account still needs its own phone number on a phone you keep, because a new sign-in asks for a code that Telegram sends to the account's other sessions or to that number. Mosaic does not supply numbers, and it is not a tool for sending messages to strangers. Free covers 3 profiles and 10 profile creations; how agencies split client accounts this way is on the social media managers page.
