A social media manager does not need an anti-detect browser for every account on the roster. Most of the big platforms now let a brand give you a role without giving you its password, and those roles are safer for everyone. The browser matters for what is left: brand logins with no role system, regional accounts a brand wants worked from its own market, and the two-factor codes that come with them.

Start with what each platform gives managers

Each platform decides how others may help run an account. These pages were read on 2 November 2026.

  • Meta: a business can share its Pages and ad accounts with a partner's business portfolio, so an agency works through its own portfolio (Meta Business Help Center).
  • YouTube: channel permissions give a person a role on the channel, such as Manager or Editor, without access to the owner's Google Account (YouTube Help).
  • TikTok: a Business Center can request access to a brand's TikTok accounts, and members are then given permission to manage them (TikTok Ads Help).
  • Instagram: the app lets one person add several accounts and switch between them (Instagram Help Center).
  • LinkedIn: the User Agreement allows one account per person, in their real name, and forbids using someone else's (LinkedIn). Company pages are run through page admin roles.

Mosaic keeps accounts you are entitled to run apart; it does not change what a platform allows. It is not for fake engagement, sockpuppets or returning to a platform that has closed an account.

How it works: Provider minting

Where a separate browser still helps

Roles cover the big platforms' main products, not everything a brand uses. A brand's account on a smaller network, a link-in-bio tool, a community forum, the newsletter platform: many of these have one login and a password the brand hands to its manager. Sign in to six brands' versions of the same tool in one Chrome and the tool remembers the last one, so a post goes out from the wrong brand. Chrome profiles split the cookies but all six still share your computer's fingerprint and your office address, which is how accounts get linked across a session boundary.

What to look for, as a social media manager

A social manager's checklist is different from a media buyer's. Here is ours, answered for Mosaic.

Can you tell the windows apart?

Six identical Chromes are how replies go out from the wrong account. Every Mosaic window carries its profile's name next to the address bar, and the profile list shows which ones are running.

Are the two-factor codes with the brand?

Each profile has a credential vault with TOTP codes. The companion inside that profile's browser shows that brand's logins, codes and notes, and nobody else's, so the code you paste is the code for the window you are in.

Does each brand get its own exit?

Paste a proxy seller's gateway line once as a provider, and every profile mints a separate session from it. Pick the brand's country and the profile's timezone and language follow the measured exit, so a brand's regional feed looks the way its followers see it.

Can you see the mobile web layout?

A Mobile profile in Mosaic is desktop Chromium in device mode, drawn from a captured Android phone. It shows the mobile web version of a page. It is not a phone, and it will not run the Instagram or TikTok app.

Can you do the morning round in one go?

Bulk actions start a set of profiles together, arrange their windows and open the same page in each, such as every brand's notifications page.

What Mosaic does not do for social teams

No post scheduling, no shared inbox, no analytics, no team seats. Profiles live on the computer that made them and Mosaic has no cloud copy, so two managers cannot open one brand's profile from two laptops. For that, the platform roles above are the answer. The day-to-day setup for brand accounts is in Mosaic for social media managers running brand accounts, and the agency side is in the agencies page.

Free covers 3 profiles; Pro is $49 a month, one plan, with a 14-day free trial, on the pricing page.
