Yes, you can have 2 Amazon seller accounts, but only on Amazon's terms. The rule in the US Seller Central help, which we read on 2 November 2026, is one account for each region you sell in, and a second one only "if you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing". Both halves have to be true, and the second one keeps having to be true for as long as you run both.
Mosaic keeps accounts you are entitled to run apart; it does not change what Amazon allows. Everything below is about whether you are entitled, and Amazon is the one who decides.
What Amazon's multiple-account rule says
The Seller Code of Conduct is a list of nine things every seller must do. The eighth is: "Not operate more than one selling account on Amazon without a legitimate business need" (Selling policies and seller code of conduct, read 2 November 2026).
Further down the same page, a section called Multiple selling accounts on Amazon spells it out. "You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing." The next sentence is the one people miss: "If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing."
So a second account is not a hedge. It ties the two together. A policy problem on one can stop both.

How it works: Presets and extensions
When you can have 2 Amazon seller accounts: a legitimate business need
Amazon gives three examples on that page:
- You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each.
- You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies.
- You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts.
A post from Amazon's own news account in the Seller Forums adds a concrete case. If you have registered one brand that sells soap and another that sells pet food, "you can maintain two accounts to simplify management" (Account health tips for multiple selling accounts, read 2 November 2026). The same post describes the separate brands as having "different storefront names".
Read the three examples together and they share a shape: two real businesses, or a program that asks for it. Wanting a backup in case the first account is suspended is not on the list. Neither is selling the same products on two storefronts to take two places in search.
Does a second account need Amazon's approval?
Amazon's page states the condition rather than a procedure. On 2 November 2026 it did not describe a form for asking first. The need has to exist, the accounts have to stay in good standing, and Amazon can review either at any time.
In practice that means three things before you register a second account:
- Write down the business reason in one sentence: two legal entities, two brands with their own storefronts, or the program that invited you.
- If you are not sure it qualifies, ask Selling Partner Support before you open the account, and keep the case.
- Make sure your existing account has nothing outstanding on its Account Health page, because the rule needs every account in good standing.
What a second account is not
A second account is not how you give staff access. Amazon's User Permissions page lets the primary user invite employees and co-owners with their own sign-in, on the Professional selling plan (Set and edit user permissions, read 2 November 2026). An assistant with their own login to your account is one account with two users, and Amazon recommends that over a shared password.
It is also not something you can buy. "Seller accounts generally are not transferable," Amazon says, and "if the ownership of a business changes for any reason, the new owner must establish a new seller account" (Can I transfer my seller account?, read 2 November 2026).
And it is not a way back after a deactivation. The forum post says that if one account is deactivated, "you'll need to resolve the issue and reinstate that account before your other accounts can become active again". A new account opened to get around that is the case Mosaic does not help with.
If you do run two, keep them apart
When the second account is legitimate, the trouble is day-to-day. Two Seller Central tabs in one browser share cookies, so it is easy to upload a flat file or answer a buyer from the wrong account. A Chrome profile per account fixes the cookies; the screen, graphics card, fonts and IP address are still the same machine, which is fine for an account Amazon already knows is yours. How sites read those signals is in how websites detect multiple accounts.
We built Mosaic for the case where each account should keep its own browser: a profile per account with its own cookies, fingerprint and pinned proxy exit, and its own two-step codes. The setup, step by step, is in how to manage multiple Amazon seller accounts, and what it changes and does not change for sellers is on Mosaic for Amazon sellers.

None of that changes the order of questions. First, does Amazon's rule allow the second account? Only then, how to keep the two from mixing. Other platforms answer the first question very differently; is it legal to have multiple accounts sets the rules side by side.
