If your TikTok ad account is suspended, Ads Manager shows the line "Your account has been suspended" and every ad in the account stops. TikTok's page on suspensions, last updated June 2026, splits what happens next in two: a first violation gets 30 days to fix the problem or appeal, and anything left unresolved after that becomes permanent (About suspended ad accounts, read 2 November 2026). The clock matters more than anything else on this page.
What a TikTok ad account suspension means
TikTok watches each ad account's standing on the Account Health tab in TikTok Ads Manager. A status of Attention Needed comes with warnings and suggestions. A status of Poor means the account is suspended. TikTok adds that some violations are severe enough for an immediate suspension with no warning stage.
While it lasts:
- All ads in the account are stopped. They go back to their original status when the suspension is lifted.
- Some Ads Manager features go, such as transferring and accessing pixels.
- People with Admin or Operator permission can change the delivery status of campaigns, ad groups and ads, and nothing else.
- An agency account that is suspended cannot be used to create new ad accounts or add money to them.
- Refunds of the balance follow a separate process for suspended accounts.
Why TikTok suspends ad accounts
TikTok's page lists five common reasons, in its own words:
- Reports or complaints about the account from people on TikTok or other channels.
- Problems with the ad content, or with the qualifications or services offered in the ads.
- Changes made to an ad's landing page after the campaign was created.
- "Malicious behavior or intent suspected during ad creation."
- A violation of the TikTok Advertising Guidelines or other standards.
The third one is the reason an advertiser who meant no harm can end up here. A landing page swapped for a new offer after launch, or one that starts redirecting, is on TikTok's own list, so treat a live campaign's page as fixed until you create a new ad for the new one.
Behind the list sits the Advertiser Account Policy, which covers what an advertiser does as well as what its ads show. It forbids attempts to "circumvent, evade, or interfere with our advertising systems and processes", false documents, and unapproved payment methods, and says enforcement can go as far as "temporary or permanent suspension from all Bytedance platforms" (Advertiser Account Policy, read 2 November 2026). An account that has been taken over is suspended too, temporarily, and TikTok says it restores it to its owner.

How to appeal a suspended TikTok ad account
TikTok's June 2026 article moves the appeal inside Ads Manager (How to submit an account appeal, read 2 November 2026). TikTok sends ads-policy suspensions to Account Health and other kinds of enforcement to Account Settings; the banner on the suspended account takes you to the right one.
- Follow the banner or pop-up to the Account Health page.
- Read the Suspension Details section. It names the enforcement.
- Click Submit Appeal, fill in the form and attach supporting documents. The status changes to Under Review.
- Follow it in the Appeal widget; View Appeal Details shows the history and any messages.
- If the status changes to More Information Required, you have 48 hours to answer in the Appeal Details drawer.
- The outcome appears as Appeal Approved or Appeal Not Approved. You can reply to a result within 48 hours if you have questions about it.
If you work with a TikTok sales representative, they can file the appeal for you, and it still shows on your Account Health page. The system refuses a second appeal for the same issue.
The older route, and why its numbers differ
TikTok also still publishes an April 2025 article that describes appealing through a support ticket: ? Help › Ad Assistant › Submit ticket, then Account/Ad Review › Account Review › Account Suspension Appeal. It says you should hear back within two business days and that an appeal filed more than 180 days after the suspension "will not be reviewed" (How to troubleshoot a suspended ad account, read 2 November 2026).
The 180 days and the newer page's 30 days do not agree. We would go by the newer page, and appeal within 30 days, because a suspension that turns permanent can no longer be appealed at all.
What to put in the appeal
Fix the cause before you write, because the form asks TikTok to look again. If an ad was rejected, change or remove it. If a landing page changed after approval, put back what was reviewed or create a new ad for the new page. If you were suspended for something you did not do, such as a takeover, say so and say what you changed: new passwords, 2-step verification, who has access in Business Center.
Then explain in plain sentences: what the business is, what the account advertises, what went wrong and what is different now. Attach what proves it, such as business registration, licences for a regulated product, or invoices. File one appeal per incident. The older article warns that several appeals for the same issue "will lead to delays in processing".
What not to do
Do not open a new ad account to keep spending. TikTok's own advice is to "avoid creating any new ad accounts while your appeal is being reviewed", and a fresh account opened to get around a suspension is exactly what the Advertiser Account Policy forbids. That holds whatever browser, network or device it is opened from, and Mosaic is not for it. Mosaic keeps accounts you are entitled to run apart; it does not change what a platform allows.
Keeping a client's account out of trouble
For agencies, most of the prevention is in Business Center: each client's ad accounts owned by the client's own Business Center, shared to the agency with the permission it needs, and 2-step verification on every login, which TikTok offers to turn on when a Business Center is created (set up a Business Center, read 2 November 2026). How that sharing works is in how to give an agency access to TikTok Ads, and the structure behind it in TikTok Business Center explained. Whether one business may run several ad accounts at all is covered in can you run multiple TikTok ad accounts.
Agencies holding many clients' logins can keep each client's passwords, two-factor codes and downloads in a profile of its own, which is the work described in Mosaic for agencies.
